JoAnna started her business in 1991 in Hinesville ( Ft. Stewart), Georgia. As a school teacher, football coach, fitness director and military wife & mother, JoAnna ”played” in Mary Kay until September of 1992, when she gave birth to her second child, earning the use of her first Mary Kay car the same day as delivery! Within three months, she achieved the director level and was on her way to building a unit with consultants who GO and GROW in Mary Kay, moving 10 times in over 30 years.

 

As a director in Mary Kay, JoAnna is able to continue to pursue her love of teaching, but her classroom is now filled with women. JoAnna loves to encourage and educate with a passionate desire to raise others to the highest of heights, always following the Golden Rule and praying their way into the future.

 

JoAnna is married to Andrew (Andy) Shipe, an executive with Republic Services, and they live in Cave Creek, Arizona, just north of Scottsdale. They have two children: Kevin, who graduated from West Point in 2008, served in the US Army, and is now a Project Manager in Philadelphia, living in Marlton, NJ with his beautiful wife, Stephanie Nardi Shipe and their daughter, Abigail Elizabeth, born 4/21/22  and Tabitha Anne born January 22, 2025.

Their daughter, Jules (27), is a college graduate from GCSU in Georgia, and is currently a Principal at a Title 1 school in Phoenix!

Mary Kay and its extraordinary opportunities have afforded JoAnna many blessings & luxuries and exceeded her expectations of what can be done when one makes choices based on faith, not fact.
